I can see us now,
Rocking in our chairs,
Sipping lemonade,
Our grand-kids upstairs.
I can see us now,
Hair turning grey,
Wrinkles setting in,
Our love turned ballet.
I can see us now,
Finding something new,
Finding something borrowed,
Both old and new.
I can see us now,
Me waiting there,
You walking down,
Fresh flowers in your hair.
I can see us now,
Discovering hope,
Experiencing pain,
We'll learn how to cope.
I can see us now,
Our awkward first date,
My lame pick up lines,
It's not a mistake.
Why can't you see
What's right in front of us,
The joy that we could have?
You are the one I trust.
For now I'll wait,
Laugh, cry, and mourn.
You'll never care.
You'd think I would learn.
I'll stand up, move on.
I do not know how.
I'll probably fail.
I can see it now.
Woah. This is intense. Love it, love it, love it!!! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks man. I went through last night and read pretty much all your stuff again. Haha, creep. I especially liked the female giant one.
ReplyDeleteHaha thanks! That's not creeping, that's what the blog is for. I never knew you had this hidden poetry talent and I'm super excited about it! Do you write songs at all, by chance?
DeleteI dabble. The thing is, I have no musical ability. Therefore, I can sing the tunes to myself, but I can't write the notes down to record it for others. I'm assuming you do, music comp major and all.
